Recently there have been some major issues with cruises. Certain lines have experienced difficulties ranging from actual sinking to fires onboard that have rendered the cruise ship useless, not to mention high jacked bus tours. In these instances passengers may have lost all their belongings. In this case passports are lost and a lost U S passport replacement must be obtained. Expedited passports can be shipped to proper authorities in these instances to help these cruise victims get home safely.
Getting A Passport
If you are going to be doing any international travel it is critical to remember that you will need expedited American passports. If you do not have one you will not be allowed to enter into another country. It is imperative that you keep your passport protected while you are traveling overseas. If not, you may have your passport stolen, and this can cause many headaches for American travelers. Thankfully, obtaining a passport is easier than ever before, and you can be on your way to getting a new passports with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Travel Travesties
Recently, there was a news story that showed how a popular cruise line actually sank. The crazy thing about the story was how the Captain of the ship actually abandoned the ship and its passengers while it went down. This would be a very troubling scenario to be a part how. However, situations like these are very rare and get blown out of proportion by the media. There was also a story, involving the very same cruise line that detailed how one of their buses was hijacked and how all of the passengers had their belongings stolen. Again, things like this are very rare and should not keep you from planning a cruise vacation for you and your family. Cruises are some of the safest ways to travel internationally.
Cruise Problems
If something like this were to occur on your cruise you would certainly be reimbursed for your travel expenses. The bad part about this is that, many times, cruise lines take many weeks to pay back their customers. If you lose your passport while you are on a cruise that sinks you will be able to get a new one without going through the same procedures as a replacement passport. This is just another reason why it is so incredibly important to keep your passport safe with you while you are traveling overseas.
Losing Your Passport
When a passport is lost it is pertinent that it be reported as lost in order for a replacement to be doled out. A passport can be reported as lost by calling the proper authorities and alerting them. This will deem the passport invalid, which means that if it is found by you or anyone else, it is rendered useless. This keeps your identity safe and makes sure it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
Travel Insurance
A good thing to remember when traveling internationally, that many travelers overlook, is travel insurance. Unfortunately, it is likely to be the time that you forget traveler insurance that you are on vacation where you actually need it. If you have a serious problem with the cruise you take they will hopefully be able to refund some of your money for you. However, this will probably only happen after a lot of haggling and headache. Remembering to get travel insurance before going on an international cruise is a very good idea.

According to recent studies regarding passport replacement procedures the most common way to lost United States passport is in a local pub. The study revealed that a little over half of those who applied for replacement passports were under the age of thirty and claimed they had misplaced them when spending a night out on the town. A lost passport is a big deal, especially when traveling abroad, this is why it is important to keep track of the important document and perhaps find different ways of verifying age when spending an evening bar hopping or pub crawling. Luckily an expedited new passport is fairly easy to obtain.
Travel Documents
Passports are vitally important documents when it comes to traveling outside of the United States. They allow an individual to enter a foreign country as well as allow them to re-enter the United States. If a passport is lost or stolen it is a big deal as it may prohibit re-entry into the United States and make traveling very difficult. This is why services such as replacement passports and expediting services are available. This way an expedited new US passport can arrive in time for travel.
Losing A Passport
While surely no one ever wants to experience losing their passports while on an overseas vacation, thanks to the internet it is not the problem it once was to get a replacement. In fact, many passport agencies that are based online can get you a replacement passport very quickly. However, the fact remains that this is very expensive and it is better to just make sure your original passport is safe while you travel. By keeping your passport in a safe location, you will not have to worry about losing it.
What To Do
In order to obtain a replacement passport the missing passport must be reported as missing or stolen. By reporting it missing it will red flag the passport in case someone tries to use it. However, you must be sure that the passport is indeed missing, otherwise if found, your original passport is still invalid. A passport can reported missing to local authorities and they can work with the United States embassy and consulate to get a new one. There are also many agencies that can help as well. Their prices may be a bit steeper but they can guarantee better arrival times.
Virtual Backups
Another great way to keep your passport protected from thieves while overseas is to only carry around a photocopy of the document. Who cares if you lose a photocopy? The real passport will be waiting safely for you in the hotel’s safe for when you need it. It is important for those traveling overseas to remember what a pain it can be to have to get a replacement passport while overseas. However, unlike in the past, it is much easier to accomplish this now than it was in the past.

We’re proud to present an exclusive interview by email with Japanese pop-star May’n! It’s a short but sweet look into her current anime, the process of recording, and what kind of music she likes. Enjoy!
Anime Diet: What kind of impression did the American fans at AX 2010 make on you, and how do they compare to Japanese fans?
May’n: I was really glad that they expressed their emotions so directly, even during the songs. Live shows are always unpredictable, but I heard lots of “Woooow!!” and “Kyaaaa” when I sang in a different way from the CD. This doesn’t really happen in Japan, so I got excited!
Anime Diet: How do you think you have evolved musically since you began singing for “Macross Frontier”?
May’n: The number one thing that’s changed is my ability to use a high-tone voice. Yoko Kanno brought out more and more of the range that I thought was impossible for me.
Anime Diet: Is there any style of music that you’d like to try in the future?
May’n: I’m thinking a lot about the rock genre. I think it’s the genre where my style, my voice quality will have an advantage. I want to continue to sing rock, but I want to search for “May’n’s Rock” where I can include some R&B and soul, too.
Anime Diet: You have been involved in songs for many anime series. What anime are you watching now, and what are some of your favorites?
May’n: Recently I watched Guilty Crown. I loved its impressive imagery. And the music by Supercell was “saikou!” I became a big fan of Accel World, for which I sing the new OP starting in April. It has excitement and heartbreak, too. It’s going to be the most awesome anime for sure!!
Anime Diet: What kind of music are you listening to now?
May’n: I listen to many genres: Idol songs, R&B, Rock, etc. My recent favorites are Jason Derulo, David Guetta, and Livetune!
Anime Diet: Which non-Japanese musicians have inspired or influenced you?
May’n: I look up to Madonna and Janet Jackson. Their style is always perfect and their performances are really wonderful. I got to see Madonna’s Japan concert once. She was really a true entertainer.
Anime Diet: Was the new album, “HEAT,” composed with an international audience in mind? What aspects of the album do you think might appeal to a non-Japanese audience?
May’n: It’s filled with the heat I received from all of the fans in Japan & overseas at my previous lives. There’s lots of variety, like rock, dance, and ballads, too. Please listen to it! I’m sure you’ll want to come to the live shows!! (*laughs)
Anime Diet: What were the most challenging and the most fulfilling moments during the making of “HEAT”?
May’n: The challenge was health management, because the schedule was tight. But I kept my throat strong so that I could sing every day. As a result, I was able to give my best during the whole recording process. I felt really good as I finished each track, so I’m really proud of the album. I think it’s my best one yet.

Few things are so massive that they can be seen from space; however there is one manmade barricade that is believed to be seen from space. The Great Wall of China, it is an expansive fortification consisting of walls made of concrete, mud, and any other element that can block a force. To visit this wonder all you have to do is grab your passport. If you don’t have a passport just go to any agency and get the passport process started you can also apply for a passport renewal if your passport has expired.
Passports
Passports allow for international travel, without these pertinent documents foreign travel is impossible. These travel documents allow for an individual to cross into a foreign country as well as re-enter their country of origin. The expedite US passport renewal process although considered tedious, is much easier than it used to be. Now with technology and the internet as long as proper documentation is gathered a passport is quite easily obtained.
Visiting The Wall
If you are in China you should definitely consider checking out the Great Wall of China. It was built to protect the land of China from invaders. It was constructed along the east to west border of the country. It was built in pieces by the individual provinces of China, and later connected to form one giant wall. The materials used to build the wall were mainly comprised of stone, brick, wood and many other elements. The construction of the Great Wall of China began in the 7th century. As the years went on, the many emperors of China slowly added to the wall.
Other Functions
The main purpose of the Great Wall of China was to act as a form of border control that allowed for individual check points. Today, it still serves this function, but also acts as a wonderful tourist destination that people come from all over the world to see. In addition, over the years China has added more protection to the Great Wall of China. This was done by adding watch towers, barracks for soldiers and a communication system that allows individuals stationed along the wall to communicate with each other.
Size
The most current and precise archaeological survey of the wall indicated that it measures 5,500.3 miles long. This mileage is comprised of 3,889.5 miles of actual wall, 1,387.2 miles of natural barriers such as rivers and hills, and 233.4 miles of trenches. The Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the East, to Lop Lake in the west; it follows an arc that is the approximate delineation of the southern edge of Inner Mongolia.
History
Although a widely popular notion and extremely historical, The Great Wall of China cannot in fact, be seen from the moon or space. The resolution required to be able to see the wall and distinguish it from its surrounding is so expansive that it is virtually impossible and no astronaut has claimed to be able to see it. Writers as far back as the 1700’s claimed that the Great Wall should be visible to the moon; however they lacked the scientific understanding and prowess to grasp the actual notion.
I actually cried to this episode. I thought I would be immune to Okada already, but it looks like tossing in Kawamori as well made for a lethal combination that hit right at where it counted. Aahhh, I certainly hope Mykage gets his just desserts at the end of this series.
Koneko-chan, ahh, I dearly miss her! Too bad Highschool DxD ended. One cours was too short!
Which girl is cuter? Asia or Koneko? Asia is a Christian sister, formerly a nun, but resurrected as a demon. Koneko is a demon, originally Nekomata, a feline yokai turned into a loli. Both of them are moetically cute, but I love a loli-akuma more! Yes, she’s a kuudere (cool dere), like tsundere, yandere. She’s cool, quiet, calm, reserved, but sharp.
Yeah, one time Issei tries to give a pat on Koneko’s back, but Koneko backs off, and says, “触れないで下さい。(Furenaide-kudasai. Don’t touch me.)” Yes, in Latin, Noli Me Tangere. In Spanish, ¡No me toques! Yes, “Don’t touch me. Don’t approach me. Don’t hold on to me. Don’t cling to me.” In short, “Don’t you get near me, you pervert!”
Yes, girls act like they’re untouchable, what’s worse, sacred and inviolable as if they are Christs, or if not Christ, then some kind of divine being closer to God. So, I can never have skinship with girls like Mary Magdalene couldn’t with Jesus. Saudade… Now I understand how Mary Magdalene felt. So I sing Magalenha (“Magdalene” in Brazilian) for rejected souls! Don’t they know a pervert is actually a gentleman?
In turn, 2D girls are already unskinshipable from the beginning. So, for sure 2D girls are goddesses! So yes, Koneko-chan is kami! Koneko-chan is truly divine!
I really liked her tsukkomi role in this anime. She’s a good tsukkomi to Issei’s boke. And yes, she does a tsukkomi to Issei with a lobster instead of a harisen! LOL. That comedy was really good. Warai no tsubo (taste in humor) totally hit the spot of mine.
But, DxD didn’t feature Koneko in the final episode since Koneko was already defeated in the 10th episode. I was so sad. It got serious and boring too. I wish DxD stayed comical until the end. Otherwise, it would have been the best comedy anime of this season.

I wasn’t entirely sure I wanted to participate in this month’s Manga Movable Feast. While I’d heard of Jiro Taniguchi and seen reviewers rave about his work, none of his titles really seemed to interest me. But once I went through a full list of his titles available in English, the first I found that looked interesting was Samurai Legend, which was drawn by him. But I wanted to read a title that he had both written and drawn for the MMF, and that’s when I came upon this title. I enjoy a good mystery, but The Quest for the Missing Girl is more than that.
The Quest for the Missing Girl isn’t strictly a mystery. It’s a character study wrapped in a mystery. Megumi’s disappearance is just an excuse to get Shiga off his mountain and involved again with her and her mother Yoriko, the widow of his best friend, Tatsuko. Tatsuko died while climbing Mt Daulaghiri, so Shiga feels some survivor’s guilt since he had turned down Tatsuko’s offer to join him on the climb. And that is really what is at the heart of this story. As Shiga searches for Megumi, he is also dealing with memories and feelings that he had pushed aside. Throughout the story, there are flashbacks about Tatsuko and Yoriko deciding to get married, Tatsuko deciding to do the one last climb on Mt. Daulaghiri, and Yoriko and Shiga claiming Tatsuko’s body, as well as a younger Megumi climbing with Shiga. There is the distinct feeling that Shiga had feelings for Yoriko as well, and that he didn’t approve of Tatsuko climbing again after promising to not to when he and Yoriko married. It’s these feelings that lead to the regret that later rules him. It takes climbing his own Daulaghiri, Oribe Element building, to finally overcome his guilt and regret.
The mystery itself is pretty standard. Shiga has to play detective, talking to Megumi’s friends, wandering around Shibuya, finding the clues and making the connections the police can’t because of Oribe’s power and status. A subplot to this is “compensated dating” that Megumi is involved in. Taniguchi gets a little heavy-handed with it, almost lecturing adults and parents that the reason girls get involved with these older men is because they feel unloved at home. But this might also be the point, since Yoriko is shown as not being aware of Megumi’s activities, other parents might not be as well, and this story can serve as a warning.
Besides Shiga and Yoriko, there are some great characters in this title. Maki, Megumi’s “bad girl” friend is nicely complex. She starts out being very annoying, but slowly opens up to Shiga, especially after he promises to become her champion as well. I really like Yoshio, the man who helps Shiga navigate the teen scene in Shibuya. He’s open and honest, and can see Shiga sincerity. I really liked who he could relate to the kids without trying to “be” one of them, and it gains their trust more than anything else. The villain of the story Takuya Oribe is shown as a manipulative, abusive man who is ultimately a coward that uses the power of his corporation as a shield. His character is definitely a damning of the way corporations, and not just in Japan, can get away with so much.
I enjoyed all the elements of this story. All of the different layers made it much better than just the mystery is appears to be on the surface. Taniguchi proves himself to be just a good as storyteller as an artist. The awkwardness between Shiga and Yoriko is almost palatable. The way they continue to be formal with each other, despite all the tragedy they have shared shows there are still unresolved issues between them, though the end gives hope that they soon will be.The art is as well done as the story. The wide variety of character designs is refreshing. I love the way he draws Shiga glaring when he gets into scrapes.
If you pick up The Quest for the Missing Girl just expecting a straight mystery, you are going to be disappointed. But if you allow yourself to look deeper into the characters, you will find a rich, satisfying story. While it does have its predictable moments, they do not in any way detract from the story. I’m glad I decided to give this title and mangaka a try. it just might lead to me reading more of his work.
She shall descend as avatar, to bring hope in the darkest hour
Summary:
Hibiki, Tsubasa, Miku and the others watch in horror as Kurisu tries to stop Ka Dingle’s beam, as her body falls to Earth, Hibiki lets loose a soul shattering scream. Ryouko takes this opportunity to mock Kurisu’s dreams a bit, which along with her grief causes Hibiki to go berserk and mindlessly attack Ryouko. Hibiki, caught in the grasp of the fragments of Gungnir that have fused with her body, is deaf to Tsubasa’s words. Ryouko fights Hibiki, and even seemingly gets injured badly, causing Hibiki to turn her attention to Tsubasa. In the shelter, Yumi starts to panic over what is happening, but Miku says she believes in Hibiki. Hibiki is overwhelming Tsubasa, and Ryouko regenerates from being sliced nearly in half, regeneration abilities she gained from Nehushtan. Ka Dingle prepares to fire once again, Tsubasa tells Hibiki that she will stop it from firing again. She takes a blow from Hibiki and uses her Shadestitcher to hold Hibiki in place. Tsubasa attacks Ryouko, then attempts to leap to the top of Ka Dingle. Ryouko stops her, but a brief visit from Kanade gives Tsubasa the will to try again, she makes it to the top of Ka Dingle and destroys the tower with a massive blast of power. Tsubasa’s sacrifice snaps Hibiki out of her berserk state, but she also detransforms and seemingly loses the will to fight.
Hey, you aren't dead yet. We can have plenty of naked time then.
Ryouko, having had her plans thwarted, goes on a rant about how everything should have gone, and takes the opportunity to beat up on a nearly catatonic Hibiki for a while. In the shelter area, Yumi is still panicking, but is finally calmed down a bit by Miku. Hibiki lies nearly unconscious, thinking about everything and everyone she’s lost, and tries to remember what her purpose was. Ogawa arrives with some more refugees, including the girl Hibiki saved in episode 1. The girl wants to know if there is any way they can help Hibiki, or at least cheer for her. One of the techs says that if they get the school’s server up and running again, they can use the PA system to talk to Hibiki. Ryouko continues to go on about how she tried to reach god, Hibiki is very unimpressed, which inspires Ryouko to beat her up some more. In the ruins of the school, the passage to the server room is blocked except for a small hole, Yumi says that she’ll go in and turn it back on, if this were anime, it would be time for the small bodied person to show their worth. Yumi, Miku and the others go in and start up the server, and then the four of them and the other Lydian students begin singing the school song. The song reaches out to where Hibiki and Ryouko are. As Ryouko tries to figure out what the sound she is hearing is, Hibiki remembers that her friends are always right by her singing for her, and that she can sing for them, and fight for them.
Where to even start? I thought I knew where this episode was going, and for 90% of it, it was pretty much spot on. Berserker Hibiki, Tsubasa sacrificing herself to take out Ka Dingle, Ryouko’s nutty ranting, Hibiki going catatonic, even Miku and the others singing the school song to bring Hibiki back, all fairly predictable. I however did not expect the song to so inspire Hibiki that she would not only power up, but that Kurisu and Tsubasa, who were I guess not actually dead, would also power up into brand new super modes. That was pretty awesome and unexpected. This is a surprisingly hopeful way to end this episode, especially considering what we saw at the beginning of episode 1, which is starting to look like it may not be quite what we thought it was.
Cut to the quick.
For all that was going on, I don’t have much else to comment on. Oh, Anime-chan, whom I now can remember as Yumi, continues to vie with Ryouko for the most epic facial expressions, she was a laugh basically every moment she was on screen. Her little mini character arc over these last two episodes was pretty well handled as well, for what it was. Also a pretty hilariously meta commentary on the entire show. Ryouko had a few good meta moments as well, most notably her line to Hibiki about “Are you questioning my motivations!?” Yes Ryouko, we are definitely questioning your motivations. It was good to see her acknowledge that blowing up the moon would also cause a rather noticeable gravitic disruption, and she even included that in her plan, though the step between “Blow up the moon” and “Take over the world” remains maddeningly vague. Though it is a moot point now, I guess.
Beauty and the Beast
I was not expecting the girl from episode 1 to return, but it was nice to see her again, and it brings things around full circle. Hibiki saved her at the beginning of the show, and she provided the inspiration for how to save Hibiki here. I was also amused by how her mother apparently took the secrecy order very seriously, and wouldn’t break it even in this situation. Anyway, can’t wait for the conclusion next week, when Madokami’s newest disciples decide its time to kick ass and take names. Hopefully things will end on a more positive note than we previously expected.
This week, the theme is unbridled optimism in the face of adversity, so who better to have on as a guest than veteran anime fan and Corn Pone Flicks personality Joe Vecchio.
